Stratech SystemsLtd (“Stratech”) is pleased to announce that it has signed a tenancy agreement with Jurong Town Corporation (JTC) to take up to 9,500 square metres of space at the new, state-of-the-art, landmark building “The Strategy” in the International Business Park (IBP), Singapore. This makes Stratech the first anchor tenant in Phase 1 of “The Strategy”. The significant milestone marks the beginning of Stratech’s transformation into a world-class advanced technology/systems developer and internet/e-business infrastructure enabler company.

JTC and Stratech have jointly agreed to the naming of the new building as “The Strategy”. The name “The Strategy” augurs well with Stratech's focus on the development and provision of advanced "strategic" technologies, systems, services and solutions to niche, "strategic" markets with high growth potentials. From Stratech's perspective, “The Strategy” reminds them of “Strategic Technologies Pte Ltd”, the first pioneering Stratech member company that was created more than 10 years ago. It is a reminder that, as a business, Stratech has come a long way and building on this strong foundation, she will continue its pursuit of growth and success by building on the drive and core strategies that have served Stratech well. The building name “The Strategy” harmonises and provides visibility to Stratech's corporate identity. JTC also finds the name appropriate as it complements its first business building “The Synergy”. Both buildings are positioned at the main gateway entrance into the International Business Park and cater to hi-tech companies.

Stratech’s new facility at “The Strategy” will serve as its corporate headquarters and base in Singapore from which we will manage and rapidly expand our local and overseas businesses and operations. Our expansion plans include at least doubling our Singapore-based manpower pool to more than 200 by 2001. The significantly larger space available at “The Strategy” will enable us to comfortably house this increased manpower pool as well as the many more professional talents who will be joining the Stratech team as she continues on her aggressive growth path into the new millennium. Stratech’s offices in the new building will provide a world-class, conducive working and R&D environment for our staff to engage in creative, innovative and advanced technology and business development activities, provide high quality service to our customers, network with business and technology partners, and grow the business.

The new corporate headquarters will also provide Stratech with the physical space and infrastructural facilities to enable us to expand our Super-eHub services. Super-eHub will be a network of broadband internet data centres and associated hosting services that leverage on our experience gained from hosting, operating and maintaining high performance, secure and mission critical systems for customers such as the Government of Singapore. The one-stop Super-eHub service will host the hardware, software, applications and content of large enterprises, corporate and government customers. In particular, this service targets corporations seeking to customise, serve and deliver applications and content more effectively and efficiently to their customers here in Singapore, the Asean region and Asia. The new corporate headquarters will provide the additional space and facilities required to meet the expansion needs of and to manage Stratech’s Super-eHub network.

In order to gain early access to new, emerging technologies and solutions, and strengthen our technical and e-business capabilities, we plan to also aggressively expand our business through joint ventures, acquisitions and investments in companies with related or complementary technologies and businesses. These activities will include the provision of incubator services, business infrastructure and facilities to emerging Internet, IT and Life Sciences startups and companies. Many of them will be encouraged to be physically co-located within Stratech’s physical incubation facilities at “The Strategy”.
